Q WHAT ARE GHOSTS?
The energy, soul or personality of a person who has died and has somehow remianed between its earthly existence and the spirit world. Most researchers believe that these spirits do not know they are dead. Very often they have died under traumatic, unusual or highly emotional circumstances. Ghosts can be perceived by the living in a number of ways: through sight (apparitions), sound (voices), smell (frangrances and odors), touch - and sometimes they can just be sensed.

Q ARE ALL GHOSTS THE SAME?
Generally speaking they can be broken down into several types.

Apparition
A ghost who interacts with the living. These are the spirits who can playfully hide objects, sit on your bed, throw objects or plea for help. They are thought to be in limbo because of unfinished business or due to a violent death and need help from the us to resolve their issues before passing on to the next realm. This is considered “intelligent” haunting because the ghosts appear to be aware of the people around them as well as their surroundings.

Residual Energy
Basically a recorded image or a replay of certain events. They never vary their routine and do not seem to be aware of the presence of others. These “recordings” are thought to be imprints left over from strong emotion at the time of death or created by magnetic fields that literally tape-record an event.

Anniversary Ghosts
These are types of residual hauntings where ghosts are seen on the anniversary of their death. They are particularly common in castle hauntings.

Poltergeist or “Noisy Ghost”
Their activities can centre on an adolescent, but this is not always the case. They movie objects, make loud noises and generally create unpleasant situations. Many just like being mischievous.

Messenger Ghosts
A type of ghost which is often a family ghost, appearing to family members to herald the death of another family member.

Postmortem Ghosts
This ghost appears to a close member a family or a close friend at the time of death. For example, a mother is woken in the night to find her son standing at her bedside in an army uniform, he of course has just been killed in action.

Elemental Ghosts
An elemental is a shape-shifting spirits with the ability to become however big or small, from a solid form to a liquid form at a blink of an eye.

Q WHEN I USE AN EMF METER, HOW DO I KNOW THERE IS A GHOST THERE?
First off... Did you take your baseline test? You MUST always rule out hidden pipes and cables before you can assume that you are in the company of a ghost or two. To do this you could use a builders wall sensor or a Natural Trifield meter. The EMF reading will spike if there are fluctuations in the EM field. This does not necessarily mean entities are close by. Some believe that spirits operate somewhere between radio waves and microwaves (SEE FIGURE BELOW) in the electromagnetic spectrum.

Q I HAVE CAUGHT AN 'ORB' ON A PHOTOGRAPH, IS IT A GHOST?
Orbs are probably the most talked of all the paranormal phenomena because investigators capture lots on their cameras. I beleive 99.9% of orbs are attributed to dust, insects and moisture in the air. For an indepth analysis relating to Orbs, click on the 'INFO' button above.

Q I'VE JUST SEEN THE MOVIE 'WHITE NOISE', HOW DO I RECORD SPIRIT VOICES?  

You will need a Tape / Digital recorder or you can actually use your Mini Handycam.
Place yourself in a quite place that you think may be haunted.
Make a small list of questions to ask the spirit.
Place the recorder on a table.
Start recording asking the questions slowly.
Record for no longer than about 15 mins.
Tell the "spirits" your intention; that is that you want to communicate with them.
Don't get discouraged, you WILL get them.
